Registration/license key problems

Hello,

However I've just received a DVD copy of BOS and naturally want to install it, but I'm having real problems getting started and just wanted to check here if anybody had suggestions before contacting customer support.

The game installed fine, which had to be through steam (much to my dislike as I've only ever had problems with it in the past) asking me for the 15 digit serial key printed in the DVD packaging which it accepted fine generating a 25 digit license code.When I click the desktop icon to launch the game it says I have to login at least once to initially register it with the devs.

This leaves me in a somewhat of a viscous circle in that I have a license key and I have an account but I can't seemingly tie the two together to get started
